Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien's only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan's Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King's Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but her darkest demons lay in that same place. If she can overcome them, she will be Adarlan's biggest threat - and his own toughest enemy. While Celaena learns of her  true destiny, and the eyes of Erilea are on Wendlyn, a brutal and beastly force is preparing to take to the skies. Will Celaena find the strength not only to win her own battles, but to fight a war that could pit her loyalties to her own people against those she has grown to love?
Sarah J. Maas has enchanted me yet again with the latest installment in the Throne of Glass series. I honestly didn't think that these books could get any better, and boy was I wrong. With Heir of Fire Maas had taken the series to a whole new level of awesome. I love this book so much that it hurts, literally, its like someone is squeezing my internal organs and I like it... I'm not good with the metaphor thing. Sorry.

I can barely form the words to relay how brilliant this book was.

I've always had issues with writing reviews for any books in this series because they will inevitably always fall short of explaining how much I loved them, and that can be very frustrating – with Heir of Fire not only am I required to review it since it’s a Proof from Bloomsbury, but I want to.

I really, really, want to. Because, whilst I loved all the other books, Heir of Fire has quickly become my favourite, so far. I need to share my thoughts with the world, and you need to read this as soon as it is out. Throne of Glass fans will not be disappointed. I’m slightly in awe of Maas, it’s like she’s a female George R.R. Martin with fewer deaths – of course that’s only my personal opinion.

The world building is just as amazing as in the Game of Thrones books, and the characters just a memorable. If you’re a fan of GoT I can pretty much guarantee you’ll like ToG. Er… don’t quote me on that though.

This is a relatively short review because I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone, and believe me, you are going to squeal with delight when you pick this book up and read it. I could go on for about an hour telling you every single detail in HoF that made me love it…We have more Chaol, more Celaena, more Dorian and brand new characters. A new scene. More badass-ery. JUST EVERYTHING. AND ROWAN. ROWAN IS LIFE <333

Okay, confession, I totally shipped Celaena and Chaol but HoF changed my views on that’s, definitely, I have a new OTP. I’m squirming so much right now because I just want to tell you everything, but I won’t, I’m restraining myself. HoF itself is not as action-ey as the previous two books; it definitely focuses more on developing certain *things* (trying not to spoil so much right now) and whilst I can understand how this might not sit well with people, I just loved the quieter atmosphere and the overall effect it had on the book.

Maas’ writing style is just as captivating and sincere as ever, from the first page of Heir of Fire I was drawn right into the Throne of Glass world, it was like I had never left – even though it had been a good seven months since I read the last book (Crown of Midnight); which in itself is something that I value in a series, and that I praise Sarah for. I feel like I've rambled a lot in this review, but this book deserves it. I really love it, and my hands are aching to get book four. This is without a doubt one of my favourite reads of 2014.

Now a compilation of GIFs that accurately describe my reading experience in relation to Heir of Fire... ENJOY.
